1. Appointment of Executor/ Executrix

An Executor/Executrix is a person chosen with a lawful interest and appointed by the Curator to:

  • Make an inventory of the succession
  • Pay off all of the deceased debts
  • Distribute the remainder of all the succession to the heirs

In accordance with the last will and testament of the deceased, or in compliance with the existing laws of inheritance and succession.

2. Appointment of Fiduciaries

A Fiduciary is someone who acts on behalf of co-ownership. A co-owner ship exists where land is own by more than one person . A Fiduciary may be appointed notoreal or by the Curator. When you are selecting a Fiduciary choose someone you and your beneficiaries can trust.

3. Vacant Estates

The Curator takes charge and administer vacant estates, represent and administer the property of absentees by:

  • Vesting of immovable properties
  • Vesting of moveable properties

4. Monitoring of Executor / Fiduciaries

All appointed Executors/Fiduciaries are obliged to provide a summary statement of the administration of the property within a six month period from the date of appointment and a final statement, by or within two years following the death of the deceased.

5. Reseal of Probates

Sealing of probates and letters of administration granted outside Seychelles - Under the Curatelle Act, the Curator has the power and obligations to receive probates and letters of Administration over a deceased estate which has been granted by a court of Probate outside of Seychelles.
